In my paper The Turnover Turnaround: An Analysis of Teacher Turnover in U.S. K-12 Public Schools and Recommendations for Improvement, I examine the critical issue of teacher attrition in public schools. I demonstrate how it affects student achievement and school culture in ways that are both surprising and thought-provoking. The analysis reveals some fascinating insights. It shows that factors such as low salaries, inadequate support, and challenging working conditions contribute significantly to high turnover rates. I also explore demographic disparities within these trends, emphasizing how marginalized teachers are disproportionately affected. To address this crisis, I propose several actionable recommendations, including increasing salaries, enhancing mentorship and professional development opportunities, and improving overall working conditions.
